Strategic partnership BredaPhoto & BUas

We are excited to share that BredaPhoto will be a strategic partner for BUas for the upcoming years. Our collaboration will span various domains, including workshops, masterclasses, placements, and graduation projects. In consultation with Hilda Vliegenthart (member executive board of Nieuwe Veste), Friso Wijnen (director BredaPhoto) and Demi van Oirschot (marketing/communication and education) and Jorrit Snijder, Lars Davids, Charlie Hicks, and Neville Marcinkowski, we’ll begin by focusing on Leisure & Events, Creative Business and Games.

Connection to Industry
BUas wants to strengthen further partnerships with the industry and therefore we have a so-called CIC (Connection to Industry Committee) of colleagues from all domains to build partnerships with our industry. Tijs van Es, manager Innovation Square, is project leader of Connection to Industry and helps all the account managers with shaping these collaborations.

BredaPhoto
BredaPhoto exhibits visual stories that inspire, move, confront, raise new questions, and demonstrate that photography is the artistic medium at the heart of society. It is a photo exhibition where you get the chance to view the work of national and international top photographers at unique indoor and outdoor locations in Breda. For seven weeks, the city is a life-size canvas that gives the photos an extra dimension.

BredaPhoto Festival
The next edition of Breda Photo festival takes place from 13 September – 3 November 2024 with the theme Journeys, the journey as a metaphor for life-changing development. Please do visit the festival, since it is such an eye catcher in Breda and a wonderful opportunity to get inspired by all the renowned photographers and artists.

Collaboration
The collaboration will initially focus on the following domains creating a podcast series featuring photographers’ stories, enriching the cultural program of BredaPhoto with visitor experiences, a BUas journey Photo competition, offering a masterclass for Games, by renowned artist duo Persijn Broersen & Margrit Lukács (using mediums such as photography, video, and animation) and a designer from Guerilla Games, to create a pre-movie for BredaPhoto by Creative Business Students. Additionally, there are future placement and graduation opportunities across various domains. Not all activities have been finalized, we recognize significant potential on both sides.
