Bregje learns more about organising festivals and events at pop venues, for example. She went to visit the 'Vrienden van Amstel Live'. This is a large-scale music event that always takes place several days in a row at Ahoy Rotterdam.

Backstage and on stage
"During this fieldtrip, we were first given a presentation by the organisation about the concept of 'Vrienden van Amstel Live'' and how they make sure to put on a unique show every year. After this, we were shown around, both backstage and in the auditorium and on stage. Then we were given another assignment to set up a brand activation, with the group with the most original idea winning tickets to the 'Vrienden of Amstel Live'," says Bregje.

She also says: "I found it very interesting to see how much preparation work goes into such an event, and what all you have to think about while organising it. A lot of people work together to surprise visitors with their show every year."

You get a lot in return
Are you in doubt about studying Leisure & Events Management and whether the Live Music & Dance Events specialisation suits you? Bregje says the following: "If you have an enormous passion for everything to do with music, festivals and events, I would definitely recommend this specialisation. It's hard work at times, but you definitely get a lot in return."
