This was the first year that the ATPM students visited these specific parks. This combination led to a great variation during the trip with a zoo, a theme park and a show park. It was a week full of magical moments during which these unique locations showed a lot of the possibilities within this industry. The focus of the trip was sustainability. With tours, presentations, and interesting conversations the students learned to view this topic from multiple kinds of business perspectives.

On the first day the students left in the early morning to visit Pairi Daiza, where they first got the chance to walk around on their own and afterwards they received an extensive tour from a very enthusiastic park guide. In this way the students got the opportunity to see the most interesting and beautiful places within the huge zoo, as well as receive extra information while walking around.

The second day was all about the 31st birthday of Disneyland Paris. After a meet and greet moment with Doriane Couhault, placement student from the second year of ATPM within Walt Disney Imagineering, the students had the time to discover the park on their own. At the end of the day, the visit was finished by watching the premiere of the nighttime show ’Disney Dreams’ together.

On the last two days the group visited Puy du Fou. During the first day they could already visit some of the big shows in the park, there was a dinner with the whole group and the night was closed off by watching ’Les Noces de Feu’. The next day the group got a presentation by Emmanuel Soulard about the park and their work for sustainability. Later in the day there was an ’aperitif’ and meet and greet moment during which the students got the chance to ask questions and have conversations with a few important people within the management of Puy du Fou International.

We want to thank the companies that helped make this trip so interesting and memorable: Pairi Daiza, Disneyland Paris and Puy du Fou. And thanks to NewWays for planning this trip for us.
